How long can you live with gastric cancer in 4th stage, spread to liver lungs pancreas?

Question by Mag: How long can you live with gastric cancer in 4th stage, spread to liver lungs pancreas?
My husband’s father has been diagnosed with gastric cancer. The doctors cannot do much – pretty much nothing, could not offer even chemo and gave him no chances. How long can you live with cancer in its 4th stage? The doctors said a few months maybe a year, but did not really want to talk about it.
Do you know anybody that has lived years with it?

There is no way of saying. They can’t give you a definite answer. My aunt was told 6 months to live without treatment other then pain meds for her lung cancer…she lived for 18 months. The doctors told my mother 6 months to a year and she was gone in a month…my father was gone in 3 they couldn’t give us any time frame for him because he had advanced pancreatic cancer. Just enjoy the time you have left with him.

India Bollywood News – Will Ranbir and Sonam live up to the legacy of Kapoors?

India Bollywood News – Will Ranbir and Sonam live up to the legacy of Kapoors?

Article by News editor

The newest Kapoor in the town, to be making their mark soon in a BIG way, are Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. While it is difficult to gauge there talent at this stage, but after the release of promos of their debut film SAAWARIYA, its clear that they are the most awaited star kids to be launched this year.

Their debut is one of the most talked about in recent times and all eyes will be on Ranbir Kapoor – the son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor – daughter of another superstar Anil Kapoor. Expectations are running high especially because they are launched by one of the finest film maker of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

With this new pair it seems Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to present one more hit couple to the industry.

The biggest buzz in bollywood is now that, will Ranbir and Sonam live up to the legacy of their families.

Ranbir Kapoor – The name is borrowed from his grand father Raj Kapoor. Raj Kpoor’s full name was RanbirRaj Kapoor. According to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranbir carries the charisma of both his father and grand father.

“I know he is in very capable hands. But then you never know. I just pray to God that he can live up to the expectations. Fingers and everything crossed,” says Rishi Kapoor.

Ranbir has to fit in and carry on the legacy of Kapoors which began with Prithviraj Kapoor in the 1930′s. Second generation of Kapoors – Raj, Shammi and Sashi were also a suucesfull stars. Raj Kapoor is also known as the biggest showman and the finest film maker of India. Even Randhir and Rajeev of third generation were not so successful but Rishi Kapoor was defiantly the most popular romantic hero of his era.

Ranbir will represent fourth generation of the first family of Bollywood although Karishma and Kareena Kapoor are already there but he will be the first male of fourth generation.

On Ranbir the industry is looking as next super star, that’s why he is been signed by big film makers like Yash Chopra and Raj Kumar Hirani well before the release of his first film.

On the other hand most probably Sonam Kapoor will be the first heroin in film industry whose father Anil Kapoor is still playing lead hero roles in the movie.

Bhansali calls her the combination of Rekha and Wahida Rehman and industry watchers are already comparing her with the Dimple Kapadia of Bobby (1973).

Anil Kapoor is delighted at the attention she is getting. “I was pleasantly surprised by her performance when I saw the rushes of Saawariya.

Sonam also has to carry the legacy of another Kapoor Family which is also in film industry for more than 40 years. Her grand father Surinder Kapoor and her uncle Boney Kapoor are well known film makers of India. Sonam will be the first lady of the family to enter in industry.

Earlier Sonam was interested in film making and that’s why she started as assistant to Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Black but Bhansali found that innocence and purity in Sonam which was required for SAAWARIYA.

Now the debut film of both Kapoor kids is ready to release on Diwali, expectations are running very high. Not only Sanjay Leela Bhansali but families of both Ranbir and Sonam are crossing their fingers and hoping for the best.

How long will a dog live if we leave her breast cancer untreated?

Question by Joyce C: How long will a dog live if we leave her breast cancer untreated?
I noticed a small lump about the size of half of my thumb on my dog’s nipple and a rice-sized lump near another one. It feels hard when you touch it but my dog doesn’t seem to be in pain when we press on it. We think it’s breast cancer but my parents say that since she’s already 12 years old there’s not point spending so much money on such a risky surgery.

How long will she live from now if we don’t do the surgery?

How big will the tumor grow?

And will she be in pain if we don’t do the surgery?

Best answer:

Answer by Rayven ~ Here we Go Again
First and foremost why the hell hasn’t this dog at least been seen by a vet? You can’t take a proper course of action one way or the other WITHOUT an actual diagnosis. For all you know its NOT cancer.

so rather than playing 20 Qs about something you can’t even diagnose get the dog seen by a vet and go from there.

In most cases, statistics refer to the 5-year survival rate. The 5-year rate of survival is the percentage of people who are alive 5 years after a lung cancer diagnosis, whether they have few or no signs or symptoms of lung cancer, are free of disease, or are receiving treatment for lung cancer

Well, first you would have to know that it is in fact cancer and the only way to tell for sure is to go to a vet. Many older dogs develop fatty tissue tumours that aren’t cancerous and are just a side effect of the aging on their body. Dogs are more prone to liver cancer than anything else.

Assuming it is cancer (which I’m not convinced that it is), she’ll likely last about 6 months.

The tumours can grow to any size but don’t often get larger than a golf ball.

And yes, if it is tumour, in her later stages she will be in a great amount of pain (just like any human that has cancer). The tumours press on tissues and nerves and cause high amounts of pain. If you should choose not to do anything, your dog will suffer. If you discover it is cancer and can’t be bothered spending the money on surgery and treatment, the most humane thing you can do is to put your dog down and end the suffering of the poor animal.

A friend of mine has stage 4 breast cancer and arthritis in the spine. How long does she have to live?

Question by johnedwards2006: A friend of mine has stage 4 breast cancer and arthritis in the spine. How long does she have to live?
She has been diagnosed with breast cancer. After all the necessary tests have been taken the doctor seems suspicious that the cancer has spread to the spine. What is the survival rate? How long does she have to live by taking the additional tests and medicine?

Best answer:

Answer by RipCity
There is not a good answer for survival as we are all different. How fast our cancer grows, how easy it spreads, how aggressive it is treated, which means are used to treat it, and most importantly the overall health, strength, conviction of the patient. If it is isolated in one area of the spine it may be handled with chemo or radiation. I lost my mother to breast cancer many years ago. She was a strong fighter and lasted a year of which she went through 5 operations as it had spread many times to different parts of her body. So there is no one answer for this dreaded disease when it attacked our body other than doing the best with what we know. I wish your friend all the best and will keep her in my prayers along with others. I hope this helps. Good luck

How long can a person live with stage 4 lung cancer?

Question by Natalie: How long can a person live with stage 4 lung cancer?
My Grandpa was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer (tumors in both lungs) but they haven’t given him any set time. Does anyone have any idea?
Yes, his doctor doesn’t believe in giving a ‘life expectancy’. Non-small cell lung cancer DOES have 4 stages. I have heard that, with the small amount of chemo he’s receiving once a month, a year is about right.

Sorry about your grandad. My bf’s grandma was diagnosed w stage 4 lung cancer too last wk and they gave her 1 year to live. I’m no expert on cancer but I’m sure it varies from person to person especially when the cancer is that far advanced, he should be able to get that info from his physician tho. I hope my answer was of some help and again sorry about your grandad.

my dad has stage four colon cancer and was diagnosed in mid december. its spread to his liver and lungs and part of his stomach. he also has luekemia. what is the longest he could live with certain treatments?

Best answer:

Answer by Karen F
No one can give you an estimate time on your dad’s life. Every individual is different and every persons body reacts differently. In the meantime it would be good for your dad to try and keep his nutrition healthy and he might even try anti-oxidants to help slow down the process of the cancer spreading. Anti- oxidants bind with free radicals and definetly helps to slow down the process. Your dad’s condition is serious and advanced. Prepare yourself and accept the fact that he has this disease and ensure spending lots of time with him.Prevention is always better than cure
